PRINT BLOCKING

We all know that last summer was, without any single doubt, the summer of colour blocking and fluor. For this season, the trend is going to be PRINTS in the widest range you can ever imagine them.

I have been doing my research and trying to find out what ZARA will have for us and here I show you just some pics of what I have found.

I felt in love at first sight when I saw this handkerchief printed shirt.

These paisley printed garments will be a perfect mate for summer evenings if you wear them with plain colour clothes or with other printed items.

And, as a more flamboyant point, this seahorses printed shirt for the most daring ones.

Now it is time for you to think how you will mix and match you printed items and to improve your self-esteem!

Hogging the limelight: Ryan Gosling

Ok, ever since I discovered Ryan Gosling I have been delighted with the way he is hogging the limelight every time he appears.

The premiere of Drive was during LA FILM FESTIVAL and Ryan hit the red carpet wearing a navy blue two-button Burberry tailored suit. But what really caught everybody's eye was the black suede loafers and the bright red socks adding a colourful touch to this smart look.

During the 69th Cannes Film Festival Edition he surprised us more than ever wearing two different Salvatore Ferragamo looks. One of them, more casual, combining a lovely pyjama-like top with white trousers and bicolour shoes (quite risky, let me say, but perfect as well)

More recently and for The ides of march premiere he chose a fantastic olive green Gucci tailored suit with a white shirt and a striped tie that absolutely blew my mind.

I think them all are new ways of looking smart keeping yourself away from the more than boring black to which we have been obliged to wear quite a lot so, now it is time to choose which Gosling's style tips fit you better and try to add them to your own outfits.

Have fun!

F for Fashion&Fantasy

If there is something  that has been getting bigger over the past seasons is the interest around Louis Vuitton's fashion shows and the magic that Marc Jacobs and his team create specifically for every ocasion.

So, two years ago it was de show with the huge fountain in the middle and the lovely and naïve face of Laetitia Casta opening the show.

Then, one year later we all were dumbfounded when the lights turned on and the bellboys opened the doors to a world of corsets, peaked caps and lingerie.

But the surprise for this year was even bigger when the Orient Express came into the room and models started to get off the train while, bellboys again, were carrying their suitcases, handbags and briefcases.

We are not just talking about the ambience being the most stunning thing on the runway but about the glitter and feathers on the bags, trousers' patterns, embroided jackets and breathtaking heels that had all of us drooling over them.

ITEM OF DESIRE: Platform shoes

I think it all started back in the 50's when the Teddy Boys added the so called 'brothel creepers' to his more than imitated look. This type of shoe regained popularity in the early 1970s when they were worn by people as Malcolm McLaren or Vivienne Westwood.

But it has been quite later and due to Prada S/S11 colection when the platform shoe became a clearly object of desire for all kind of fashionistas, bloggers and trend lovers. It was just like a boom and everybody had the craving of owning a pair.

Later on, during London Fashion Week, we all felt in love at first sight once again when those Burberry platform loafers hit the catwalk in the F/W11 show, and then I suddenly realised that we all needed something similar to feel less anxious and why not, a bit taller.

So, after a long research I found this "wannabe" at Zara website and I have to recognise that eventhough they are not the same, they are quite more affordable for my budget and I have been using them ever since I bought them and feeling a little bit more trendy for a while.

MARNI for H&M Collection

After a more than long wait, the day is almost here. In just five days, some selected stores all over the world will be filled with the pastel colors and geometric patterns that have always been present in the Marni garments.

Here you have some of the pictures that I found at H&M website showing us the outfits that Consuelo Castiglioni has created for the Swedish house.

I can't wait to wear this pijama-like outfit to the bakery this spring, or this lovely yellow lifejacket-like vest to a pool party this summer.

Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2012

Now that PFW has just started and after reviewing a few shows I clearly have to point out at something that simply took my breath away.

This Christian Dior Haute Couture SS12 is, without any doubt, an statement of what Dior has been trying to say in the fashion industry right from the foundation of la Maison back in 1946.
This is a proof that no one is essential, as this collection is slapping directly to the face of those who belived that it would be difficult to find someone to take Dior back to its roots after the forced farewell of Galliano.

Firstly take a look. Then take a bow.
